COTTONISED FLAX FIBER
Cottonising means shortening and cleaning the Flax Fiber, making it finer and giving it the similar characteristics as cotton.
Flax fiber length between 20 and 40 mm, mixed with cotton, polyester, viscose, modal and other textile resources, mostly in a ratio of 30% flax . It is used for spinning yarn counts varying between 10 and 50 Ne.
Price and quality are determined by the fineness, cleanliness and length of the fiber.
Variations are possible in color: cream/natural (dew retted), bleached or wet/oiled. Some spinning mills rather prefer darker fibres to highlight the rustic/authentic aspect of flax in their fabrics or knitwear as much as possible.
